What is Langdale's® Essence of Cinnamon?
Langdale's Essence of Cinnamon is a concentrated product formulated from 100% natural ingredients. The warming aromatic qualities of cinnamon are blended with three natural herbal extracts that are particularly useful during the times when the weather turns colder and viruses become more virulent.
The therapeutic benefits of Cinnamon have been used for many years as stated in the British Herbal Pharmacopoeia.
Cinnamon Concentrate: Only the highest quality Cinnamon Leaf Oil from Sri Lanka is used in the preparation of Langdale's Essence of Cinnamon.
The three natural plant ingredients that are blended in the formulation of Essence of Cinnamon are:
Ipecacuanha: Ipecacuanha or Ipecac is the common name of the plant that is native in Brazil and other South American countries. The ingredient that we use is from the root of the plant and is primarily used by herbalists for respiratory conditions and as an expectorant.
Squill: Squills are native plants of the Africa, Europe and Asia, they are a bulb forming perennial herb found in woodlands, subalpine meadows, and seashores. The ingredient we use is taken from the inner leaves of the bulb. Squill is one of the oldest plants known to herbalists who used it as an expectorant.
Senega: Senega is the dried root of the Polygala senega and was said to be used by the North American Seneca Indians for the treatment of snake bites, but it has also been widely used in Europe and the Middle East since the time of Ancient Greece when it was used as a treatment for coughs and bronchial conditions by ancient physicians.
All the plant ingredients above are blended carefully with water and ethanol produced from plants to produce the product that generations of families have been using since Edward Langdale first formulated his Essence of Cinnamon in 1745
