Omega 7 Sea Buckthorn Oil omega 3,6,7,9
Omega 7 (Sea Buckthorn Oil)
Omega-7 fatty acids help to prevent vaginal dryness in menopausal women
Omega-7 fatty acids promote normal immune function, and inhibit the development of inflammatory disorders.
What do omega-7 fatty acids do?
Mucous membranes line the surface of the digestive system, the respiratory tract, and the urino-genital tracts. The essential PUFAs and antioxidants present in sea buckthorn oil act synergistically in maintaining healthy mucous membranes throughout the body. The omega-7 PUFA palmitoleic acid is of particular importance, because it confers fluidity to the membrane, whilst having a low susceptibility to oxidation. Lipid peroxidation by free radicals results in the disintegration of membranes and a resultant loss of function, leading to ulceration of the digestive tract, a disturbed epidermal barrier in the skin (resulting in impaired wound healing and dermatitis), and dryness of the genital tract lining (particularly in menopausal women). Omega-7 PUFAs, together with the other classes of omega PUFAs present in sea buckthorn oil (and their metabolites) play an important role in regulating immune function and the inflammatory response. Thus omega-7 fatty acids promote tissue regeneration and anti-inflammatory action in the skin and mucosa.
Clinical studies have shown omega-7 fatty acids to have the following benefits:
• Omega-7 fatty acids help to prevent vaginal dryness in menopausal women
• Omega-7 fatty acids promote normal immune function, and inhibit the development of inflammatory disorders
How much Omega-7 fatty acids should you take?
The recommended intake for palmitoleic acid is 240mg/day. Tell A Friend
